OK, I'll admitt it. I have a VERY bad case of CRS!!!

My Jeep has been down for so long that I am just not sure about the shifter positions. The sticker that came with it is faded and unreadable. I had 4 to 1's installed and was doing some test driving it yesterday and not sure if I had it in low or not. If I did, I am kinda disappointed because it didn't seem to be as low as I would have hoped. To be honest, it didn't seem that different at all. ANyway, if someone can take me a pic of the selection position scheem I would greatly appreciate it.

Chip, I wouldnt make a decision until you get on somthign that will load the jeep up so you can truly see the extra 2:1 ish of the converter...

OK thanks Mike. I was right in what I thought I had it in. Right now it is stuck in 2 rear low I can move the right shifter, but not the left, it is the one actually stuck in the low position. NOt sure what the problem is there.

I agree it may seem "lower" once on something to make it show it's grunt. But I was expecting more Jump I guess you would say, when I released the clutch when in 1st gear. I guess I will play with it some more later

i had to jack up the rear and move it around a little to get it so i could easily play with my shifters and also spin the front a little with my foot to get it to hit all the various positions...

Mine was the same way. I had to roll the jeep a little to get it to go in gear.

or the bottom left one with the right shifter in 4 hi. (Gets ya home)

front only is a great way to test the limits of your front axle's u-joints quickly...

In competition it seemed to come in handy for the competitiors. :)

Yeah, because they are running Dana 44's with 760x joints

If yer junk don't say 60 on the casting, or have the magic CroMo dust sprinkled on it, it's a great way to break.

Just a little caution.

ya i was looking for that article when i had mine apart, i ended up not doing that mod. Not a big deal, i just dont have Front HIGH, i think id be tempted to use it anyway...

My "Commando" (Waggy/J-truck also) variety D20 had no interlocks, pills, or detents to mess with... just slapped the "El Cheapo" twinsticks on.

While I have yet to use Front-2HI option, hopefully the "steering column" sized (teeny, tiny) U-joints in my "massive" D30 will stand the strain long enough to get me to civilization! :flipoff2:
