Sometimes you need a tool that doesn't exist. Sometimes you need to sell more (new design) t shirts. Why not combine a game with some pseudo clever marketing?

Take a look at the pics below and post your guess as to what it used for, specifically. The only hint I'll give is that I am a one man operation in my shop and this tool makes my job so much easier.

On Wednesday I have a repair scheduled where I can demonstrate how this tool is used. So I'll keep this contest open until then.

Rules: one guess per member and the first to guess most accurately wins a newly redesigned Carolina Axle t shirt!

Good luck everyone!

Belt tension holding device? I have lost meat from my knuckles doing this crap before. Trying to hold tension one handed while tightening the bolt.

A tool that makes you have four hands

Sent from my HTC Desire Eye using Tapatalk

Connecting rod to an actuator arm of a motor of some sort.

TJ control arm replicator or bushing removal tool?

It finds the 18mm & 3/4" deep well for you?

I'll take an adult S, please!

Can we get a photo of the other side?

I'm trying to figure out why there's no paint in the middle, but the ends (business end, presumably) are unmolested.

Had to go to the googles and I would say you're damn close.

My guess. TJ front LOWER control arm bushing tool.
If it works for the front lowers, it works for the rear lowers too. Front uppers are a different design with no bushing on the axle end. Also would work with XJ and ZJ stuff too. Seems like a useful tool if that's what it is.

But why would you want to fuck with both of them at the same time?

Middle was wiped down with brake cleaner while the paint was yet tacky.
It's tough texting about V10 fuel mileage and building a 10 Bolt at the same time. :D
I'll take a pic of the backside in the am. But it's just flat with holes cut for the tube to pass through.

I am disappointed in the quality of the cuts on the tube. PM me your address, I'll mail you a new hacksaw blade.

Science of metals says it will hold up since he just crawls stuff.

I'd just hate to be in the shop when Jody sets that thing on the hood of the Ranger and he starts cussing the way I do when my Toyota eats 10 and 12mm sockets. Hidden in plain sight.

I think maybe a dummy control arm...I don't work on enough new stuff (i live in a leaf sprung world)...but maybe to keep everything in place/aligned as you pull the opposite side arm. XL.

It doesn't look to have any wrenching capability..the hole just appear round in the middle, correct? So no go on being a wrench..right?

That is exactly the right length for a LCA tool of some sort, but I'm still skeptical.

Setup jig for steering stabilizer bracket length, or maybe a steering lockout?
