I've been going to uwharrie for about the last 10 years, and have always practiced good trail etiquette. I don't understand why all the no camping signs have popped up recently. I also don't see how the gravel does anything other than make the trail ride uncomfortable. It seems to me at this rate the trails will all be gravel roads before long. Could someone please explain?

In a nut shell a lot of the no camping areas are near Archaeological sites. The gravel is to cut down on the trail wash out and help the water drain. But like RQ said come out and help and ask questions.
