90's throw back.....Manche build

Well I had been on the hunt for another set of beadlocks and getting ready to purchase some Nitto trail grappler dot tires in the 37 flavor. Found a set of 6- forged Allied/race line double beadlocks at a great price. Jumped on them, dude even delivered, made a new off road friend, thanks again @Rnuovrcj5! Even bought a new 39" krt-b at a great price from him.

Fast forward 2 hours later, and they wouldn't fit over the wilwood calipers on the spidertrax 14" rotors. We test fit for stud size, but I hadn't thought about the calipers...well shit...

Couple days later, remembered my buddy @ChrisAyers had 6 lug, same wheels as my krtb are mounted to. I made him a proposal, and came home with a tire and wheel package deal. Thanks Chris!

I now have my dot/4800 class tire package started...and as a plus all 9 wheels are the same, (retired pro comp bead lock from a few years back). They are wrapped in 37" Nitto's with a respectable 85-90% tread.

Mattix and I even broke out the rubbing and polishing compound to see if they would wake up...and they did. Well, the first one has anyway...only 8 more to go.

And for those interested in measurements. Here's the tale of the tape...both sets mounted and 20 psi on 17x9 wheels; although the bfgoodrich is mounted to the truck. Both sets are near 90%, even though the bfgoodrich are half tread comp tires. Section width on the bfgoodrich is a full 15" at the bulge, while the nitto measures 12.75.

Great looking work, what bead roller are you using and do you want to sell those bead locks that won't fit over your rotors ?
Eastwood economy roller that I've modified with a wheel, stiffening and tension handle. Their included dies, but hope to purchase their artisan dies before I start interior.

Traded the wheels for the used nitto/ pro comp combo.

Mmmmmm....sideboob!!!

Not that I'm remotely worthy of adding to this thread, but that should be the name of this rig! Project Sideboob!!

Soooo... Are we ever going to see this on the trails anywhere or is this just going to be a piece of artwork in your garage.
Probably be artwork for a few more months....lol

Promised myself I wouldn't set anymore deadlines....want to finish it under control and fluid with the rest of the build.

....but, I am tentatively shooting for Dixie Run, I really don't want to miss it 2 years in a row. Going on 2 years since wheeling, longest I've been out of the woods since I was 19 years old. And I'm certain there will be some fall/ winter wheeling before the end of year.

I'm going to have fab porn withdrawals when you finish

Maybe not. I've got a couple other projects to do in the next year or so.

First is an all aluminum sleeper/tiny camper (8'x8'x7') for my deckover trailer that can store my travel gear for overnight wheeling trips and is removable from the trailer with my skid steer. Generator, insulation, canopy, cartridge toilet and heat/ air.

Second is a new work truck build.
Mid 80's square body Chevy crew cab, '05+ f450 4x4 chassis, flatbed, either Chevy gas powertrain or 12 valve and 47rh.

I'm never short on projects...

Nothing much new to see, finished the passenger side rear half tins. Started the templates for the front section of the rear tins on both sides.

The area between the forward and rear tins (around the coil over) will be covered also.
