Too damn hot. Put a fan in my work van

We spent a week out in Vail, CO last week. The low temps at night were 40-50 deg and the high temps during the day were 70-80 deg with very low humidity. We did a lot of biking, hiking, and white water rafting. I didn't want to leave. I could see myself spending a month out there after retiring.

This was taken from the peak above Vail.

That's how I feel about Snowshoe. I legitimately tried to figure out how to spend a month here this summer but settled on 2 weeks. We went there on a trip last year and came back 3 more times before summer ended. We are going once a month all summer season this year.

Are you biking?

Are you biking?
Yes, we were there for 14 days and I biked for 12 of those. There is truly everything you could ever want cycling wise from crazy hardcore park laps to epic back county rides. It is an incredible place.
Have you made it up the Blackwater falls (davis/Canaan valley) yet?
We rarely go off the mountain. We've done a Green Bank excursion and the Cass railroad twice, but other than that we pretty much stay on top of the mountain. It takes so long to travel anywhere up there I hate to waste the time. Hell the last 60 miles from Lewisburg takes an hour and a half to drive.

That is awesome! I love Snowshoe too. I grew up skiing there many times. We went there in October of 2018 for 5 days during peak fall color season. It was great. My wife cannot MTB due to her neck, but we rode all around everywhere she could. We rode the Ballhooter lift up and down a bunch because my son (7 at the time) loved it. We also hiked around the lake and up the far ridge and climbed the lookout tower. We also rode our bikes on the Greenbrier River Trail in Marlinton. We too visited the Green Bank Observatory and rode on the Cass Scenic Railroad. I would definitely like to go back there! Next time I would like to do some white water rafting in the area too.

The high up there today is 79 deg. It is going to be 100 here!
