Steering box high pressure line thread count

Well, I freakin’ pooched the threads on the steering gear box high pressure input.

Seeing as I have no issues with the gear box, it’s cheaper to buy a tap. Anyone know the threads on these?

What box? I would take the line somewhere and get them to tell you the thread pitch. I did this on the MJ and I’m thinking that was a M14.
 
I’d take that line to a local hydrologic shop and get them to tell you the fitting size and pitch.

Does anyone know what size and pitch thread are the inlet and outlet holes of the power steering pump and the steering gear? I am referring to where the high-pressure hose on the pump screws in and the other end in the steering gear. I have some hydraulic hoses that I think will work for my...

FYI, seeing as m18x1.5 taps aren’t on every shelf of the parts store, I found an O2 sensor thread chaser that’s the same size. While it doesn’t cut threads, I was able to carefully push the threads back into place.

That remedied this issue enough to install the hose. Just need to remember for future reference that those first two threads are compromised, and to be careful with them.

Paint that hole with some yellow marking paint.
