03 F250 front axle won't engage

2003 F250 Diesel 4x4
With hubs in Auto, it will not lock up into 4wd. Switch and indicator on dash say 4wd, but front axle doesn't pull. Any ideas what is wrong?

Vacumn line into the hubs is probaly broke, a stripped hub or unit bearing. He would hear/feel the unit bearing though. Feels like the rumble strips on the side of the interstate. POS Ford design

pull the auto hubs and trash them. That is a known problem with the super dutys. Buy the Warn Premiums and you should be good to go. I had this issue except mine wouldn't unlock. the Warns are about 1/2 the price of the factory Ford parts and work much better.

The hubs should have a lock position also, for times like these.
