Not sure what is going on. The heat/ac works in my jeep according when you turn the knobs for temp and it turns on and off as it should BUT no matter what you set it at it only blows out of the defroster by the windshield. Doesn't blow out of the floor or dash vents. Works fine other wise. Any ideas. I thought it may have something to do with the airbag cover being off of the passenger side but I dunno. It worked fine now it does this. It did blow out of the floor vents for a little while the other night and I thought it may be working again but when I turned the knob it just started from the defroster only again.

im not sure about jeeps, but some cars use vacuum from the engine to control the vents. So unless someone else has an idea or corrects me, i would look for rotted, borken, loose vacuum lines.

This happens to allot of TJ's, including two of mine. It is usually the hose and fittings. It is still under warranty right?

Or the knob is just spinning around the metal insert inside the knob. it happened to mine and a few others I've talked to. Cost was less than 8 bucks form the stealership.

If the Jeep is like my Dodge, it's a vacuum thing.

Warranty is overrated ask me how I know. If I can't fix it easily I'll leave it alone. At least it still works. If it quits I've got all the stuff to do a/c repair if it comes down to draining the system and stuff. Just wanted some ideas before I go ripping into something I didn't really need to

Are you saying they won't warranty that? If not sounds like a damn good reason to never buy another Chrysler product. Hell, BMW warranties stuff customers break multiple times. But odds are it's a vacuum leak. You shouldn't have to pull the freon out of it for that.

Find me a dealer that will warranty a vehicle deemed totaled and I'll take it there
