'06 Dodge Ram 1500

Mark and I are thinking about getting a new 06 Dodge Ram
1500 Hemi SLT.

What do you guys think of this truck, anyone heard anything bad about it
or had a bad experience ?

It's 2 wheel drive, we aren't going to wheel it but we will be using it to haul a 16 foot trailer with a TJ trail rig.

it'll have the power to tow...just won't stop as well and not sure how the transmissions are handling the extra weight...

they were putting the 45RFE autos in them originally with the HEMI, but I haven't looked at them recently...

you'd definitely want a nice brake controller, and a transmission cooler (if it doesn't already have one)...

I had an 04 and it towed pretty well. My only complaints were the lack of low end grunt from the hemi and the soft rear springs. It seemed to want to spin tires instead of moving the trailer. Make sure to get a brake box before you tow anything. I didnt have one on mine and I got pushed around a lot, i bought my cummins after just a few months of the hemi or I would have put one in it for sure.
