1.6 conversion in Samuri

I bought a sammi that had already had ths 1.6 conversion and it keeps eating the starter ends up. Is this a common problem with this swap

You should be using the 1.6 starter with the 1.3 flywheel.

I've got a 97 model 1.6 16v in my Samurai. It has been in there for 4 yrs or more and I haven't had any problems with the starter.

We have the 1.6 starter with the 1.3 flywheel and it sounds like the gear on the starter just isnt hitting the flywheel enough. I just didnt know if this was a common problem or I was have problems?
