I dunno what the difference is between all the ways to get free/discounted food...so pardon my ignorance on subsidized living. But what seriously irks me is when the person in front of me has a cart full of groceries, they pull out their government subsidies, and end up paying $27 for that cart. I go through the line, I leave with 3-4 bags of groceries and paid $100. When I head out to the parking lot, I see the guy that was in front of me pulling away in a new(er) escalade or something while I'm driving a 79 Bronco held together by JB Weld and zip ties.

Makes you feel good when you send your taxes in doesn't it?

My Favorite is this one.The woman ahead of me two weeks ago had two carts of grocerys. The ones that didn't qualify for food stamps she paid for with a NC Employee's Credit Union card.So she or her husband have a full time job or in the least a checking account at a great credit union? Then she went outside and got into this SUV on 24 inch rims with the Windows Tinted and boomed her stereo all the way out of the lot.I had to include the picture,I don't know what kind of Vehicle this is other than Infinity.

not defending her or anybody, but FYI pretty much anybody can get a SECU account, you only need SOME family member to have any kind of employment w/ the state, it could be a great-uncle that had a part-time job 40 years ago.

Besides 1st year teachers in most NC counties qualify for food stamps, as sad as that is

Yeah I questioned including that detail.I think my point still stands though when I was loading my $23 of grocery's into a 95 Wrangler that I have to park at the back of the lot in case I need to roll start it,which is 60% of the time.

Sounds like somebody needs a starter under the Christmas tree

you can still work and get food stamps you just cant make over 1900 a month I never thought i would need them but when the plug was pulled on my business and i am the only one able to work and support my family we wouldnt have made it without them I agree i see ALOT of fraud and other things go on with foodstamps which is bad. but atleast there is a system in place if you really need help

I say, they need a program where if you tip them off to fraud AND the case is found guilty, you get cash.

I bet that'd cut down on it real quick, people turning each other in left 'n right.
