Is it true what the dude they interviewed on WRAL said about just getting 11 miles per gallon in his Jeep? Looked stock to me with maybe 31's. My full size truck gets 18 and no overdrive? Is dude?
A. Smoking crack?
B. Got a serious leak.
or
C. Stretching the truth a tad?

That doesn't make sense. Anybody else getting 11 in their stock Jeep?

Every jeep is different.
But if you drive around like an asshat, and have a auto transmission issue, I could almost maybe see 11?
But without a serious issue, hyperbole, or just wrong, I can't see 11mpg.
Family friend complains about getting 15 mpg in his XJ, (stock) but I borrowed it when I was up there to look, cause that seemed crazy low. I filled it up, drove from Lynchburg to Roanoke, Va and around for a weekend filled it again and it got just over 19. Soo, I just said I couldn't find a problem. He also drives really pokey, so I think it's just bad math.

Not great,

My Tj with 33X10.50's running 3.07's gets about 13mpg...and I drive like I should (not really). I got about 17 when I was running it stock.

the 33's and the Kargo Master rack really killed my mileage. and yes, I have been adjusting my calculations based on my change of tire size.

i get about 14mpg in my YJ. auto trans, 31" tires, 4.0L engine. 20 gallon tank ~280 miles per tank. like everyone has said, it depends on how heavy your foot is. depends on if you have the windows up/down/in/out, if you run the a/c, if you ride your brakes, etc

I was getting 21 Hwy mpg from a carbureted CJ5 with 33x12.50s. 258 with MC2100/HEI T150/D20 stock axles and gears.

I can get 265 miles (accurate) on 14 gallons in my 5spd tj with 4.88s and 36" swampers going from clover to boone and back on hwy321 and driving for a day in town. Thats pretty close to 20mpgs.

My stock TJ, 4.0, 5spd, averaged about 20mpg on 215's w/3.07 gears, but it was only like that for a month. On 31's w/3.07 gears, I was getting 17-19mpg, with a 23mpg run to the beach one time. Went I went to 33's and 4.56's, was seeing 13-16mpg. 35's drug it down to 12-14. The stroker made that 13-15mpg on 35's or 36" Iroks. 38" SX's seem to be 12-13mpg, but I don't have many street miles on them.

THATS ONE PIMPIN JEEP! What did you do for fuel tuning when you stroked it? If i had to guess, i would say Apex'i safc, based on your signature of what might be the only rice-burning jeep in the world

Stock 2006 Grand Cherokee with 5.7 Hemi, dash says 12.5 mpg average. Its been between 11 and 13 since I bought it new. Tow Jeeps/tractors about 100 miles a month, use AC, windows up, and drive a little faster than grandma.

It was a tough choice, as they had some really nice stuff at Auto Zone, but I did go with the Apex'i. I think the thing that improves fuel economy the most is the 8" Catback.

Go check out Matt's Pimp edition jeep one day.....I loved how he told me its mostly stock....as I eyed the D60 hanging out up front

LOL

my 01 TJ with 3 inch lift and 33x12.50's got about 16 1/2 mpg's on the way to the beach.

Alot of folks forget to asjust for tire size - if you're running 31s, that's what, a 12% or so change? That's 2 mpg in math error right there.

apx 14 mpg, 4/cyl, 4:11 gears and a strait drive w/33's. I drive it with my foot in the floorboard, but you have to to go any where. 5th gear is useless

I had an 00 tj 2.5 w/ 33's and stock gears and it got like 10 to 15 all depending on how I drove it. I had a 2.7 taco with full widths and 44's and it got 15 or better off the rev limiter every stop light. Point being my tj had terrible fuel economy. I think hes telling the truth.
