I need a relay big enough to handle the full output on my alternator. Basically I need to put my alternator on a relay because it's killing the battery. The guy that built it for me can't seem to find anything wrong with it, even though when I disconnect it the battery is fine. My thoughts are to just put the contact side of the relay on the power wire for the alternator and then just hook the coil side to ingition hot. Any ideas where to get such a thing?

Great! Thanks. I placed an order for the relay from dbelectrical. Lets hope this works!

Ford starter relays are intermittent duty. Ya need continuous duty for things that stay on.

Ford starter relays will burn out fairly quickly.

It's interesting, I got the relay today and when I opened it it looks very much like a ford starter relay, it just only has one small terminal instead of two. And yea, I need continuous duty as it will be on the whole time the truck is to keep the battery charged. Will install this weekend! Thanks for the help!
