Anyone here do it locally? The main thing I really need is to have the original wheel center removed cleanly. Any info is appreciated. I'm thinking of going with Copperhead fab centers and rock rings. Thoughts are welcomed.

I"m too far away for you I'm sure, but if nobody else can help I can.

Go with the MudPro centers. Hes local and had fair pricing. I can also get you some centers cut as well but Scott at Mud Pro is closer to you.

I think the easiest way to cut out the centers is with a plasma cutter. Jthomas on here has one and could cut them out for you plus weld in new centers. I would not go with flat plate centers. I suggest getting pressed (dished) factory style centers. They are stronger. There is a dude on pirate who sells them now. I've got a set of 12 bolt H1's I have been getting ready to put together too. John Thomas cut out the centers for me, I bought the pressed/dished centers from MRW, but the guy on pirate is cheaper now, and I bought my rock rings from Copperhead fab. I still need inserts, and will probably go through Stazworks for those. Well, that is my 2 cents. Hope that helps.

I can do it also.

that helps a bunch. the pressed centers- are they pressed in place then welded, as the name suggests? if so, have you got to the point where you've done one yet? it sounds like it would be a bit of a pain to try and get those set in place correctly.

They are pressed into a dish shape, which adds a very large amount of strength and rigidity. They are not a tight fit in the wheel (at least not in the 12bolt wheels I have done). They can be put in as well centered and square as the flatplate centers, but they will stay square much better than the flat plate centers.

Check out stockton wheel in compton cali. They have the USA 6x6 pressed centers for $45 bucks a pop

MUDPRO metal works is your man for getting your wheel centers and getting the old centers cut out. He's got a jig to cut the old centers out real clean.

Heres some I just completed.....

He can cut the centers how ever you want them. He is also very reasonable on prices.

if you want to do different than a 3.25" back spacing, you need flat centers. if 3.25" back space is good for you then you can run the pressed centers as thats about the only backspacing you can run with them

I called them and they told me they wouldn't sell just centers, only complete wheels. I called several wheel places asking for centers until I found them at MRW.

MAD MAC on pbb is the guy who sells them. The pictures in his ad are actually of my centers that I took of mine when they arrived. He asked me if he could use them in his ad. He contacted MRW and is getting his centers from their supplier.

Here is his ad:

That is not exactly correct. You can do the pressed centers anywhere from 0-3.25" BS, but you will need flat centers to do 3.25"+ back spacing.
