im wantin to put a 14 bolt in my jimmy and i know you can get 8 lug axles for a d44.......but can you get 6 lug axles for a 14 bolt? that would save me some money as to not having to get new rims and new axles up front....just a thought...tryin to figure out where im goin with my builds

if i remember right, i believe SF 14 bolt is 6 lug, it might be a hair narrower than a FF 14 bolt though

There was SF 14 bolt that was 6 lug used in that little hot rod truck chevy built for a while in the early 90's. I dont know if it was used in any thing else or not. Most SF 14 bolt are from 3/4 ton sutff and are 8 lug. I dont think the shafts are interchangeable.

they used the 6lug semi floats in the 454SS trucks, light duty 2500s (w/7200#GVRW) and I'm sure a few other places. I don't think they are gold but the show truck guys seem to droll all over them.

6 lug SF 14 bolts were in a lot of 3/4 ton trucks, and vans. I do think they all are c-clip type set up though like the 12 bolt axles are.

14 bolt SF's came in all kinds of trucks with all types of engines, models, 6 and 8 lug. I have been looking for one for about 4 months now. I found one that ill hopefully be picking up next weekend, 4.3L 4x4 truck 14 bolt SF 6 lug 4.10

my question is, if your staying SF and the 14b has the c-clips, why not just use a 12b? i cant see that the size of the gear would be that much of an advantage compared to the rock-hanger youll have under there...

i say, if you want that monster under your rig, get a FF rear, and get 8 lug outers for the front... cheaper and easier

if you are solid axle front and go SF 6 lug 14 bolt, that would be a waste. however, like in my case, i cant go 8 lug front without an SAS.
