Just for the record I've read most of the 14 bolt bible over at Pirate4x4. I was just in an argument about which axle was better/stronger. I personally am on the side of the 14 bolt, even though it is only a 30 spline. He just thinks Dana 60's were sent from heaven. What do you think?

14 bolt is much stronger, the dana 60 has dana 44 size 30 spline shaft, the 14 bolt is 30 spline also, but coarse splin 1.5" axle shafts

14 bolts can be shaved, and get the clearance back. Much stronger than a 60. also extra bearing for the pinion. Another alternative is the Dana 70, 35 spline already.

Gearing options are better for the 60, I think. I've got a friend who's running 5.13s (I think) in his 40, and says that's the tallest thing for them. He wants to go with a 60 so he can get into the 6s. This is going to be for 40 or 42" tires. I'm thinking he should gear the case!
