Google has pretty much came up completely useless to answer my question. Do you have to grind the calipers on a 8 lug “10 bolt” to fit 15 inch wheels?. I wanna know for a Gm 10 bolt, not a Dana 44, not a Dana 60. If not what wheel back spacing is key to work with the 10 bolt?

You’re gonna need less than 3” back spacing and might still have grind some.

I’ve been seeing where people are runnin 2 inch back spacing with the 44 but nothin on the 10 bolt. Some say they clear with like 4.25. Just want a straight answer lol

The 15x8s I had on mine, before going to 38s with 15x10 needed grinding on the backing plates and the calipers. They were 3 1/2” back spacing I’ll see if I can dig up some pictures from over 10 years ago.

Don't know if I've got pictures (close-ups anyway) of the 15x8s I ran on mine years ago...I had a 10 bolt front, 3.5" backspacing on the wheels. I had to grind the calipers. I didn't have to hit the backing plates, though. Definitely had to take some off the calipers.

I’ve actually still got the backing plates, which even them had to have about 1/16” taken off them. I can’t remember the back spacing but 3 1/4” or 3 1/2”

I have a set of 15x10 8 lug with 2.5 inches backspacing that didn’t require any grinding on 10bolt or Dana 60
Not going to say all wheels are the same tho
Do you have a picture of the wheel mounted for a offset reference. Tryin not to lift this thing tryin to stay close to stock height

You can see the brake rotor looking under the truck. They are not for wheeling if that’s the plans you’ll hit your rotor on a rock. I’ll try to get a picture for ya.

It’s my hunting truck so no major wheelin. Blew up the factory 10 bolt 3.08 found a deal on a set of 3/4 ton 4.56 figured what the hell

Why are you so scared of a little grinding?
Not scared to grind just wondering. Just wondering if it’s worth the bull shot to deal with buying new tires or not. Ran into issues before putting wheels on a Tacoma and having to clearance the calipers. Got sand and rocks in the wheels one day and the rocks wore through the caliper. Sounds crazy I know but trying to have as little issue as possible.
