This is a 1977 CJ5 we found and bought on this website. After a new belt, battery and some wiring, she started right up everytime. Here are a few pictures of the SOA conversion from Rocky Road Off Road.
We used the Wrangler Front End conversion kit and 2-1/2 inch lift springs. Next on the list will be new drive shafts, steering box, and custom bumpers. I will continue to post pictures of the progress. This vehicle has a 304 and a 3 speed, so anyone with anything similar, let me know your gearing and any other helpful modifications that you would suggest.

Future plans to stretch and 4 link the rear end.

This weekend we got the cj back to my brother's house to get a few things done:
-fabed up some backets for the new front bumper (the new yj front hangers get in the way of any production cj bumper).
-made some cardboard templates for the front hoop.
-installed a battery cut off switch.
-changed all the fluids
-ripped out the heater box and found a bird's nest
-took all the measurements for the shocks.
And now its off to Oliver's in WS for custom drive shafts.

Went to my friend's farm and checked out his two projects.

That thing needs a lowering kit bad!

cj build

this jeep is being built the same as my last cj.
axles will be upgraded this winter when we have more time.
my brother has a body shop in WS -he picked up the jeep so we could get most of the work done using his lift( i dont have a garage at my new home).
as far as the springs we will have to take it down an inch-(the roll bar hits the door).
the 36's were found in the used pile at galloways ,and at 500 bucks we could not pass up a deal.
38's next time for sure.
if you have any sugestions with the gearing let me know( my last jeep had 37's with a 4.56 gear). it had the in line 6 this has the 304.
thanks for any help.

- air the tires way down and drive it on in

Several other things:

- shackle angle on the front looks horrible
- why the huge (radiator blocking) skid on the front bumper?
