I have a '86 CJ-7 that is intended to be used primarily on the Street; however, I want to retain some limited 4WD usage (weather). What shocks would you recommend based on your experience/knowledge? I have discovered Doetsch Tech's DT3000, Skyjacker Hydro 7000, Rancho RS5000, Pro Comp ES3000, Bilstein , etc ........but, I do not know how to decide. Your help will be appreciated.

Edelbrock's IAS's are getting good reviews..

When I'm on the street (VERY limited), I'm happy with my Bilstein 5100's.

Cheap shocks are just that, and are usually too soft, or too dang stiff.

There IS a difference between "taut" on a good shock and "stiff" on a cheap shock.

I really like the Rancho RS5000. The did great on my jeep. About $50 each but I think worth it!
