So I'm perusing the internets in search of a decent truck box for the dakota, and after an hour or so of back & forth have decided to ask NC4x4 for some advice.

Truck is a short bed, so I've been looking at the narrow models in particular. The kicker is that the smaller 60" wide models may not fit based on the ID width of the bed coming in around 58" (I've a plastic bedliner so dimensions are approximate at this time), and the full size 70" models would be too big.

Does anyone have experience with the kobalt 67697 compact slim truck box? it's the perfect price @ $98 & nearly perfect volume, but I'm unsure of the mounting capabilities.

UWS has an application specific model that is 63" wide, but I would have to locate one or pay a premium for shipping. TBS-63-LP or TBS-63SL

Any other options or specific advice for the 60" models?

Anyone?

The TBS-63-SL would fit for sure; price is $215+$50 shipped (it's also only 12" wide by 9.xx" tall... 3.4 cubic feet - so less volume/$)
