:shaking: Errrrrrr. My new runner(85) has the common problem with the rear window. Does anyone know and easy trick to get it to roll down. I have a new tail gate to go on it but I can't remove it while the window is up.

Thanks

If you just wanna get it down - the most direct way is to jumper the motor directly.

Take off the inner panel so oyu can see teh insides, find the connector/lead for the motor. Hook up a battery to the 2 terminals... conect 1 way goes up, otehr way down. Done.

Thanks for the help

which wires again...tried this and I must have not found the right place to attach the wires

Find the motor attached to the big gear things. Near the middle of the gate... only motor in there.
Going directly into it there are 2 wires. About 4-8" down the wire is a connector. Disconnect it there.
If you wire it to the battery backwards it will try to go up.

Thanks for the help. I will try it tomorrow.

I ran wires again this morning and tried the mothod....I got nothing one way and a spark the other way. I tried the other two single wire harnesses near the motor and I got a click one way and nothing the other way. The click was comming from around the area were the bolt for the top completes the circuit....anymore suggestions. This thing is pissing me off greatly

If the motor can be removed, you can take it out, and hold onto the glass and lower it into the tailgate, and reinstall the motor when done.

I tried but couldn't find a way to get to the bolts holding just the motor in. The are on the top side which is impossible to get to with a phillips screwdriver. I tried taking the whole assembly out but it doesn't want to come out either. I would just bust the damn window out but I don't want to clean all the glass out of the runner

Dude i'm sorry but I have to wonder wtf you are hooking the battery up to. If you're gettin ga spark, it sure as hell ain't the motor. There's no juice coming from that thing. Sure you ocnencted to the right side of the connector?

Take some pics of where you're hooking it up.
i guess its possible that the motor is just dead, but unless it's 100% shorted then when hooked irght to a battery you should at least get a liottle movement.
Silly Q - have you talked to the PO, asked if it worked?

sounds like the bfh is going to rain down on it. I guess the motor is just dead...I have another tailgate and 3 rear windows..breaking this one won't brake my heart
