i always ASSumed my horrible immitation big block idle was caused by vacuum leaks but i've eliminated then all and it still does it so i started checking things out beyond vacuum...

low and behold cylinders 3 and 4 will not fire during idle. cylinder 4 has a tiny bit of spark but it's not near strong enough to ignite the fuel. cylinder 3 has no spark.

i tried swapping plug wires around and the problem still exists.

i took off the dizzy cap and it looks pretty decent (it should with only a thousand or so miles on it although it's been sitting for 9 months).

so my question is, where do i start? if my timing was off 180 degrees it wouldn't run at all correct?

off idle when i give it gas it hesitates a little but 3 and 4 start sparking and all 4 mighty cylinders get fire when driving around.

can anyone make some suggestions as to where i should start?

the spark plugs were also replaced when i did the cap and rotor.

any help would be appreciated... i'm getting ready to order my electric fan and my tie rod ends will be here next week so i was hoping to start driving it again.
