Here are some pics of the new toys I bought from Mike Wrike today. Synchrowave TIG, and a PacMaster 100 Plasma cutter. I've already sold the 3-phase MIG and made most of my money back on the deal. (when it's all said and done, I'll have $350 + bottle in the TIG, and a buddy will have $350 in the plasma cutter, can't beat that!) The TIG was pretty dirty, but I took all the covers off it, blew it out, and cleaned it up really well, a 90% improvement from what it did look like (VERY dirty).

We tested out the plasma cutter tonight, it will cut 1" thick steel like BUTTER. It will cut 2" as well, but not great (see picture). I figure it would cut 1.5" w/o much problem. Can't wait to test out the TIG machine, and at this price, it won't take long and these will pay for themselves.

I hate you a little right now. I'd give my lefticle for that TIG and plasma. Is the Miller water-cooled? If so, you got a killer little rig there. If it's not, then it's still badass! I'm assuming you already know how to use it. If you don't, I'll give you $400 for it! ;) I'm really impressed, and a little suprised at the cuts you got with that plasma, though. That's some thick stuff there! Anyway, I'm glad the stuff went to a good owner. Enjoy it, man. If you do decide to sell the Miller, keep me in mind.

On a sidenote, is RAM closing or just moving? The building's for sale. I know you ain't there no mo', but I didn't know if you kept in touch.

Ha, didn't know anything about RAM. Sure it's not the building next door? From what I have heard business is busy right now, but it'll probably drop off.

The Miller is not water cooled, and we had a 250 at RAM, so I know the basics, but I don't know every trick in the book :)

And no, I won't sell it for $400 :)

Us local TIGgers should get together someday and see if there's some tricks we can share! I'm always up for learning something new. I'll bring some aluminum, bronze, and stainless scrap. I'm serious.

I don't know that I could sneak one away from work that easily. Probably could, don't want to risk it. However, we could converge at my shop and use their equipment!

Well, the TIG works too. It was setup on 460V, and it would barely turn the fan...
Once I figured that out I moved the little clips and put it on 230V, works great so far.

I made a rod holder to go on the side as my first project w/ it, turned out pretty good.

Uh, because it isn't beat into the ground enough as it is..."Needs more triangulation!" :)

Plasma is nice, you prob ought to sell me the bandsaw for like $2 now that you won't need it! :D
