Well, i got two weeks left of my job. That two weeks couldnt get here soon enough.

Yea, they want me to stay on too. But not for the money they're paying me.

For what its worth, in NC your are hired "at will" meaning that the employer can fire you on the spot and you can WALK OUT THE DOOR ON THE SPOT. The ball is in your court....you don't owe them another minute unless you need the bucks.

This is true, but it sucks to burn a bridge for no reason. Might need the bucks later on. I know my job let me go with no reason. Not even a phone call. Not a big deal because I was down to about 10 hours a week anyway. Called me back later because the system I designed and built crashed due to user error. Nope, they burned the bridge.

not 100% ture from what im told sea.. The company cannot "just fire you" that have to have a reason and go though their steps if they are in place.

NOPE.
I spent what seemed like a lifetime in corportae management.
NC (and SC BTW) is a right to work state. Which means any and all employment is at will. You can be fired at any time without any reason. HR policies are in place to give managers a process to follow to help in cases of lawsuits. I once fired a guy for wearing white tennis shoes to work instead of black. Yep that was the official reason on his termination papers (and by the way mileshigh on here can actually attest to this) Despite the fact that out of 14 techs there were 6 with white tennis shoes on that day...

Now if he had been part of a protected minority class he would have had a different reason on his papers. Since he was not, it was actually a benefit to have such a dolcument on file. If ever needed it could show that the manager was prone to fire anyone for minor offenses ;)

What if you become pregnate? They wouldnt be able to fire you, would they??? (i'm talkin about a girl being pregnate, not a guy)

Not for being pregnant (could angle towards protected status, since men cant get pregnant) BUT YOU could get fired for having a whiny voice the day a boss finds out.

Interesting. One of my friends got fired from a certain Italian resturant chain when they found out she was pregnant. I don't know what reason they gave her.:poop:
