Shortening the long side of a D60 and have ground down the weld and was going to cut off the inner C. Checking to see if anyone knows of any machine shop that could press out the tube from the inner C in the triad area?

Thanks

Hutch

assuming the C and some tube is cut from the main axle- you are shortening that side anyway- cut once more flush with the back of the C- then take the C and run a sawzall through the tube wall (the blade movement will be in the same plane as the shafts)- cutting from inside the tube completely through the tube wall. do this on opposing sides and she comes right out if you have all the weld gone. does this make sense? -its how I got mine out anyway.
you are making 2 D shapes that are no longer a single round body. the saw kerf allows these to move together and then knock them out. freeeeee

Makes sense and didn't know how easy the tube would come out. Have seen a post from another guy that did 4 90 degree cuts but had to pry to get the tube out. I might just cut it and try if it doesn't work then get it pressed out.

Thanks

I turned the weld out with a lathe, and actually had a 20 ton press right there, just was way faster to do this way. came out easy since there was NO weld left. grind enough out and the tube will pop out. pressing that sucker back on is not fun...
