2002 Toyota Landcruiser, 261K Miles, Rebuilt Title.

Recently purchased as my wife and I were after a LC or LX470. My sister has a GX470 we always liked but wanted something beefier. We purchased this one with the thought of seeing how we liked them and ended up loving it but finding the exact LX we were after 3 days later. I wish we had waited a bit longer so I didn’t have to jump through the hoops with this one, but it’s such a pleasure to drive I’m not really mad about it.

I have gone through and fixed little things here and there, replaced random light bulbs, did a coolant flush (OE), new thermostat(OE), valve cover gasket (Felpro) on the drivers side, etc. Has a new radiator and steering rack, timing belt and water pump was done in 2021 as per the previous owner. Also doing an oil change this weekend.

We bought this vehicle because I looked at 20 or so and it was by FAR the cleanest one I looked at that wasn’t in GA or 20K+. Spent its entire life in NC, very very very minimal rust . Was involved in an accident carfax would describe as halfway between minor to moderate. Airbags did not deploy but it was immobilized and had to be towed away. I’m thinking a balljoint broke or something because I don’t see enough damage to total one. Including pics of the body with the fender removed as well.

It’s had 60K put on it since being inspected by the state and rebuilt, does not track or wear tires weird, goes comfortably down the road at 80+ with a finger on the wheel. We were able to have full insurance put on it as well without any hassles.

That being said, it’s still a 20+ year old vehicle, it will need tires before too long and I think it has a blend door issue. The heat works from the rear but is a little iffy from the front. Heater core is clear but only blows 100-110 when the vehicle is warmed up, rear heat is ~160 and between all that and the butt warmers, it’s not an issue at all staying warm, but worth mentioning. Gas guage works when it wants to, it likes to read empty and work its way up, but if you need to know the level accurately, cycle the key and few times and it pops back to life. The only key we got with it was a black OE key. It does not unlock the door but starts the engine fine. I honestly don’t know if it’s just worn to the point that the door locks don’t like it, I have not investigated it further. And the pump for the front and rear wipers is not hooked up, wipers work fine.

Asking $7500, but open to chatting about it or partial trades, if you are considering one give this rig a spin before writing it off.
