Wondering about a good way to lift the front end of my chevy 1500 z71 without tearing up my cv axles.

found drop kits for the front differential housing but you have to get a front end drop. theres gotta be a better way to do this.

Also wondering if Chevy 2500 Spindles will fit as well as the control arms. Dont mind swapping to 8 lug but prefer to keep my 6lug stock 5spokes.

I believe the leaves in the rear can just be swapped out but would need the front bracket moved due to longer leaves. Want to be able to tow a trailer without having it sag too much. Have airbags i was planning on putting on but i feel they can have issues in the long run.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The rear springs are the same length. No problems there. I have 2500HD leaves and rear axle in the back of my Silverado 1500.

Depends on how much you really want to lift the front. All of the aftermarket lifts drop the front diff down some, but most 6" lifts will drop the diff about 4" so you can get more ground clearance. Having some angle on the CVs doesn't hurt anything as long as it's not excessive. You could also crank on the torsion bars to level it out if that's all you're after. It won't hurt anything as long as you don't go crazy with it.

If you're talking about a full lift, that seems counter productive for towing.

not a full lift but enough to make sure my trailer isnt going to scrape on speed bumps. its a heavy tandem axle trailer. and the tongue sits pretty low when on my truck as of right now.
want to be able to sit higher and hold weight without binding anything in the front or rear. dont want a completely stretched suspension just to achieve the goal either.

definitely going with the 2500 leaves.

thanks for the input.
