4wheeldrive hardware is advertising a 3" lift for the jk that will clear 35" 12.50 just wondering if this is true?

I think the new jeeps come stock with 32's, so that's possible.

ah...see that was BUILT for 35s...they look perfect on it. 37s might look good too, but the 35s just look like what it SHOULD be from the factory.

Have to admit...thinking VERY seriously about a JK, just trying to decide whether to get a 2 door model or 4 door.

Since I wouldn't lift it for a while, I am afraid the 4 door (rubicon) would drag its belly on every berm in URE, etc?

Here's one with 37" Krawlers.

That is rather sweet. It looks to be about the same interior size as an XJ, but with a longer wheelbase and a removable top.

4 inches more than my 99 Land Cruiser. That is crazy long for an off road truck. I still like it but will wait for a turbo diesel with 4 half doors, soft top, rubicon edition. Still hard to look at a Jeep when I drive a Yota.

LOL...man if I could only go back in time and yank the 96ish era TJ threads!!!

...hate it...
...what idiot put coils on it...
...a real dashboard is made of metal
...Barbiedolls favorite Jeep...

etc, I swear these comments are the exact same ones I heard back then!!

(Yeah, I have been webwheeling for a LONG time now...anyone else here that was on Stephen Roths old email list?)

Sam...still wants one...Hinton

Shinton, That is exactly what I have been thinking every since this Jeep came out. In a few years TJ's will be worthless and there will be 50 writeups about putting JK axles under TJ's. Any every other conversion you can think of. The JK's are nice but if I can say one thing. Wait for the Rubicons. They will not cost much more than the saharas and if you really dont like the wheelbase just get the 2 doors version. The wife and I are thinking about do that. (yes, trading my Tj for the Rubicon 2 doors JK)

Wait a few months or a year until they drop in price and the two doors come out for a trail rig. The 4 doors looks to be about the same size as a Commander. Not too much of a differents when they sit side-by-side. I almost got into one but just could not justify the cost for what it will be (trail rig)

Yeah, right at the moment the "plan" is to wait/pay the Excursion off...then watch until I find a 2 or 4 door wrecked JK rubicon... Most of the parts that gets wrecked are SO ez to simply replace on the Wranglers.

For instance, there is a 2005 Wrangler on ebay right now wrecked in the front. It has 16k miles on the ODO, well heck...

Ok, for $6900 starting place...throw on 2 front fenders from Poison Spyder...bumpers and radiators, etc.

My guess is under $10k, I could add lockers, small lift and have a nice new TJ that I wouldn't feel bad about wheeling...

So...same will be true with JKs in 15-18months from now cuz you know PSpyder etc will build fenders, etc.

Sam

I see your point on the wrecked one but I am pretty sure that wont happen on JKs for a while. People will keep them and have insurance pay to fix it. The TJ you are looking at is way over priced for having major frame damage. Trail rig yes, street worthy no.
