Here we go again.

Prices here in winston are in the $2.70 range for 87 octane.

expect to see near $4.00 a gallon again by july 4th.

It's went up almost $.30 a gallon here in the last few weeks. Averaging $2.60 here. I expect it to go up a good bit more as well. :shaking:

cocksuckers! gonna have to ride my bike i guess!

Anyone have a large fuel tank at their house? Seems like you could save a bundle that way.

i'm planning on it. Bought a 350 gal. tank last year just for this. Just got to get a gas tank now. I got 2 1000 gallon tanks but they got off road diesel in 'em. :(

So how do you go about buying your own fuel in bulk?

What about for an inground tank. 1kgal of gas weighs 7klbs.

doesn't gas degrade rather quickly.

if you have a couple thousand gallons of gas. Wouldnt you have to use it fairly quickly in order for it to be viable?

also
how much is a standard 1k gallon tank?
would it really be cheaper?

Not sure on the pot life of gas but it would take me about a year to use 1000gals. I'm sure there are plenty of tanks layn around that could be picked uP fairly inexpensively.

So Bush is going to turn the knob up on oil prices again????? Wait...who do we blame this time?

Probably not Bush specifically but I'm I'm sure the Dem's will find some way to pin it on the Republicans.

It figures, just as the economy shows a bit of rebound big oil is going to stomp it's foot on us again. IMO this is the real reason the economy crashed in the first place.

I dont know this for a fact since I dont watch/listen to the news but I imagine all the earthquakes and civil unrest will drive the price of fuel, metal, and concrete thru the roof again this summer.

Diesel is back up to $3/gal here in places right now.

News flash: gas is a commodity. "Big oil" doesn't set the price, you do.

I heard it's going to be $8/gallon this summer. Who's got $9?

Gas doesn't, it's the ethanol in it does though. E-10 (10% ethanol - what gas pumps are pumping now) only has a shelf life of 3 months.

buy or rent a tank. get ahold of your local oil supplier. they come by and fill'er up.

thats what we do now with the off road diesel and gas we buy now. but found out that on road diesel doesn't have a great shelf life either, so, this idea might get busted.
We go thru offroad fast enuff it couldnt go bad, and dad only buys around 75-90 gal gas to run in the forklifts. There won't be any benifit of a lot of cheaper fuel that's old/stale.

a good used tank will usually (around here) go for around a $1.25 a gallon. 350 gal tank=$430. So figure that in too. I guess it be easier and quicker to reap any savings the faster prices go up.

But then what do you do if the prices magically go down....

I thinks it just a conspiracy against us:rolleyes::rolleyes:

yeah we just by off road diesel for our trucks that stay in the yard and for the tractor. we used to buy gas and had a pump for our delivery trucks, but that turned out to be too much hassel. our forklifts are all run on Lp so that comes out of the tanks that get filled every couple weeks. we go through un-Godly amounts of Lp gas. its bad when the gas man comes multiple times a month :shaking:

what if you bought a huge tank and mixed in some stabil fuel stabilizer, that might make it last longer, but then you're probably defeating the purpose of trying to save money when you factor in the cost of stabil

I haven't read any articles on $4/gal gas for this summer.
