Just got a 2014 four door Jeep Wrangler. It is lifted with 35s. The steering isn’t the greatest. I was wondering if anyone close to Winston salem that works on them could drive it and give me some advice.

What is it doing?

Well it drives like a lifted Jeep with you having to two hand it and hit a bump it jerks. It bumps around. I am us to driving one like this but this one is my wife’s and I want to make sure it is the best it can be.

If you post up a picture we could probably tell you from that if there was something heinous going on with the setup. I am in Ardmore if you need an in person opinion.

Caster out of spec, ball joints bad, track bar loose, control arm bushings, tie rod and drag link ends is where I would start looking/checking.

I’ll chime in as an on and off again Jeep owner for many years. Look at the track bar and alignment first. Once that is 100% bulletproof then look elsewhere unless there is a TRE that is just falling apart. 99.99999999% of DW is the track bar. ask me how I know lol
Can confirm. I chased DW in a JK for years replacing damn near everything except I didn't check the lower track bar mount. Did the bold swap upgrade and new joint and it was again very boring to drive.

Whenever someone tells you it couldn't possibly be the track bar because they already checked it, they're probably wrong. ;)

Truth. Cant count how many times I’ve been told “I know it’s not the track bar” claiming they’ve checked it and replaced this or that. Almost always the track bar.

In the OPs case, sounds like some bumpsteer is going on. Like to see a pic of the steering and track bar geometry. Or swing by @Chris_Keziah and take him up on his offer. He is in Winston.

Duder already did. Everything looked fine minus the fact it had a massive drop pitman arm and the track bar in the stock location. Didn't have time to drive it but bet the thing has bump steer out the wazoo, from what he described it does. New pitman and an alignment should have it driving like a JK again.

I figured it was something geometry related. With a stock track bar and big drop pitman arm I imagine they were not even close to being parallel

Thank guys for the help going to get a pitman arm out on it. Funny thing got it home and the back driver tire break smoking and abs light cut on. I guess break cap stuck. Right?
