2016 Ram Cummins Cooling Fan Always Engaged

Swapped a new clutch in 6 months ago. Still no change.

Too damn loud.

Hot. Cold. A/C on or off.

Searching through diesel truck forums is excruciating.

Anybody come across this?

Any codes? It is electrical so maybe the feed wire is shorted? I have not seen anything like it posted on cummins forum.

Did you use a cummins clutch? I know there were issues in past with non OEM fan clutches not lasting very long.

No codes. Not a real cummins fan. Completely stock. 160k miles. Done it for all the 40k miles I’ve owned it.

So instead of just bitching about it I actually tried to diagnose. My version of hptuners doesn’t let me activate that control switch for a Ram for some reason. But I did unplug the AC pressure switch and took off down the interstate. Thought I was on to something, 70mph no fan roar. Then I put my foot in it to load it up and the fan came on and never would go back off.
Seems like clutch is clutching. Just the electric input is weird.

Are you tuned? If so I would go to the tuner and see what is going on. Would guess it is something in the tune.

Not to my knowledge. But for some reason my hptuners won’t pull the file. It’s older. Might need update or something.
