ok i went to the dealer today to tell them what i was looking for and he told me that 4vyl yotas get worse gas mileage than the 6 cyl is this true

well a 22r is a carb' 4cyl, an RE is a fuel injected 4cyl, v6 gets crap mielage in the 3.0's, now the 3.4 is probably close to the 2.7's, but no one knows what motors your talking about.

The only thing for sure is a dealer salesman does not have a clue.

well he just said 6cyl(in general) i know the 3.0 gets horable but comparded to the 3.4s arent they pretty close( the 22re) and he said carb gets better mpg than fuel injected

My 3.0 gets about 230 miles on a tank of gas. 275 if i drive very, very easy. 16 gallon tank i believe.

My dads gets about 16 mpg

3.0 liters are odd motors, no 2 run the same...very inconsistent making them hard to track mileage and compare it to another 3.0.
Depends on setup, 4runner, pickup? I do not believe that Rs get better mileage than REs. 3.4s get a little better mileage than the RZ motors. I got about 17mpg out of my boosted 22re and about mid 20s out of my buddies 3.4.

The other thing to think about is the weight of the vehicle, tire size, gearing speedo off etc. My 84 22r gets 16 empty driving highway speeds (70). Stock everything 31" tires pretty accurate speedo. It got 12 with 2 tool boxes full of home repair tools driving half city half highway. It seems like it used to get much better than that. I suppose if I could drive it 60 mph (without getting run over) it would get 25.

my '89 RE Runner gets about 16.5 right now, 4.88s 32s and auto tranny. Used to be around 19 when it was all stock (4.30s and 235s)
