22R propane conversion

Long story short, I am swapping my 22RE to R then to propane. I am getting a LCE distributor and was contemplating the idea of getting the non vacuum advance distributor. After discussing that with some folks, I am getting the the vac advance distributor. My question is, what to set base timing at? I have heard the advance it until it pings then back it off... But come on. There has to be a ° to set it at? 10, 12, 5? Anyone? Thanks!

Every motor is going to be a little different, till it pings and back it off will get you the most vroom for your setup
