I have a 1989 Toyota p/u 4x4 I just finished building the motor in it and I'm trying to order a header the only thing is I have the second half of the year with as most know they switched the body half way through 1989 I'm just trying to figure out if I should still order one for an 89 or if I should be gettin one for a 1990 if u can help that would be great trying to get blue back up and goin

What brand of header are you looking at? LC Engineering shows thier header to fit 85-95 (all of the RE engines) with the same part number.

re and r motor will take the same header from 85-95 my header fit on a 83 head off my 88 toyota
Well everyone I looked at was diff part nuns between 89 and 90 and the diff is the exhaust re circulation pipe that runs across the top of it I was just wondering because my truck factory has one and I was wanting to hook it back up and I no the head is the same from the r and re

i got my header off ebay (obx) and it said 90 to 95 but it fits fine on my 86 and my friends 80

It really would help if you said which header you are talking about.
But yes I feel your pain on the model year problem - I have an '89 $runner, one of the last of the old body style.
I always go by '88, b/c if I say '89 its often 50-50 if it will be right or not.
