231 or 242 Transfer Case? For XJ Gurus

IF you were putting a 231 krawl box in an XJ with an AW4 and 242 tc and IF you had a 231 on hand also, and IF you needed to swap a 23 spline input into the 231/242 any way, which case would you go with? Also, will a 231 input work in a 242 case?
 
If you are just using it to wheel, which it seems like you are I would def go with the 231. Theres no need for the part time feature. Plua 231s are known for being just a little stronger.
