3 link question

I was just wondering on a 3link set up, does 2 of the links have to be on the short side, of can they be on the long side?

Not sure really what your asking but...usually you have 2 lowers and one upper link with a trackbar. Some people do 2 uppers and 1 lower but I wouldn't suggest that.

Can u take link 1 and 2 and instead of mounting them on the short side, mount them on the long tube side, and have link 3 on the short tube side.

Assuming you mean a driver drop diff... do you mean put all 3 links on the passenger side of the tube?

its a pass side drop diff, and i wanted to put one link of the pass side, and the other two links of the drive side

Yeah you can do that. That's how the majority of 3 links are done. Although you will need a panhard bar. On the 3 link of my YJ, I have my upper link on the opposite side of the axle as the differential. If that's what you're asking. I would recommend welding the pumpkin to the tubes.

Reason most people put the solid link in a radius arm setup or the upper and lower in a typical 3 link on the short side is to put it closer to the driveshaft so that the Dshaft u-joint goes through less angle change than if it were next to the single link.
