I have a 304 and am wanting to bolt it to a 727 auto trans. Are the flexplates for a 304 and 360 the same? Or are they balanced differently? Thanks

Noah

AMC v8's are externally balanced, so 1 from a 360 may be shaky. You could probably have it balanced to your 304 though

Good luck finding someone to do that around here for less than the cost of a NEW flexplate... a bud went thru it for a 401 to TH400... IIRC, he found someplace online that offered flexplates for all the engines for less than $75 each. I searched, but couldn't find his post.

Have you called Bill yet?

Maaaan! I had the same problem. I had a 304 and was going to put a 727 to it. Advance has two different flexplates that are weighted differently for the same engine. I posted on here and no one could tell me which one I should use. Good luck and I will wtch this post to see what you come up with.
P.S. I sold my 304 because of it!

Just wanted to make sure it's the right one. Ease up off my grille Caver...:fuck-you:

What you need is the FRA-108...the 118 is for the 258.
Do an Autozone search for an 1981 CJ7 with 304 and auto (TF727). Comes up with a FRA-108

That one is only $31 at Advance. Why did yours cost so much? Thanks for the link.
