318 into a wrangler?

I know on 96+ you can't put an older engine into a car. Is this still true in 95? Have access to a 94 gc with the 5.2 complete to possibly swap into a 95 yj

I would think about that but I don't have a 4.0 . My turd is 4 squirls. Plus I have heard for the effort of a 4.0 swap you might as well throw in a 8

95 Do not require emissions testing. I have a 1995 Wrangler with a 1993 Chevy engine and have had no problems. Actually, it even passed a couple years ago when they were still doing the sniff test on the tailpipe of 1995 vehicles.
