I have a 95 YJ Wrangler (4.0L) with 33" MT's and a Blackdiamond 4" lift. It loses power going up hills, but seems to do fine off road and level pavement. Should I change gears and if so which gears would be good for highway driving as well as off road and maybe save a little gas?

4.56, what rear end do you have?

I went to 33's on my Grand cherokee.....

I was on the fence on 4.11 or 4.56...... If you do any type of high speed highway travel go with 4.11

If its a trailer queen that sees just the local streets.. 4.56 or higher.....

Mine is a DD and 4.11's have proven to do very well for me.

4.11's if you're going to drive it on the highway a lot. I'm running 4.11 with 33's, and 4.0. At appx 60 mph I'm doing about 2100 rpms. Getting around 14.5 mpg. Front wheels will almost come off the ground. -Plenty of low end-

Thanks for the help dudes, now you all know what to send me for Christmas right??? LOL

Merry Christmas to you all!

If its an auto, 4.56's if you don't see a lot of hills. If you take trips to the mountains or need that extra oomph, 4.88's. Thats what I run with 33's.

Manual, 4.56 either way.

IMHO

I wouldnt waste time or money on the Dana 35 rear end. The lower gears area good move, but dont waste $$ by upgrading the 35. I would look in a Dana 44 or a Ford 8.8 for the rear, then do the gears. It will be cheaper in the long run. Just my .02
