Ok so ive found this adapter from BC Broncos in Texas that adapts 5.0 upper to 351 truck lower, kinda neat idea not looking to make a race car but seems like a pretty neat deal. Ive got most of the parts already just waiting on adapter to arrive, question is are there any people out there that has done this and if so any insight on possible problems and how does it run. Thanks for any info.

Never done it but I've heard it works well if you aren't building anything with much power.

FYI- I've heard a lot of complaints lately about BC's inventory and shipping. I'd call to verify they have them in stock.

Thanks for the heads up, unfortunately the adapter is on back order I went ahead and orderd it from BC broncos because they are the only ones that lists it for sale. Unless you know somewhere else to get it?

Bc broncos is who makes it/has it made for them. If it's backordered I wouldn't hold my breath on getting it in the next year. In my personal opinion I would just buy the speedmaster 351w lower intake and their or (a used) edelbrock' 5.0 upper and go. Is it still running speed density efi?

Also might try calling them, there inventory systems sucks. So they sometimes have things even when the website says sold out.

Yes Sir already did, website listed part as back orderd. Lady told me parts were a couple weeks out still, was kinda hoping someone could tell me a different place to get one?

Yep its still speed density, already had to 5.0 stuff was kinda trying to keep it on the cheap. Those intakes are fairly pricey.

Just looked up Speedmaster intake looks like a cool piece any info on how it performs?

Why not a gt40 lower? Not the easiest to find but are still out there. Maybe run upper and lower. I bet the 302 upper fits windsor lower. Looks the same anyways.

Im feeling google lazy...what is the advantage to the desired set up?

A properly built 351w with the right heads and cam will flat talk.

Learn me sumthin...

You are correct they are fairly hard to find, when you can find them they are up close to $1000 bucks just for the upper and lower not worth it in my opinion. Ive been told the GT40 302 upper will fit the 351 lower but then again upwards to a grand for the intake.

To be honest the biggest reason for me doing this particular swap is basically for cosmetics, I already have 5.0 upper with throttle body and a cold air kit for a mustang that will swap right over to my Bronco along with aluminum mustang valve covers. My original post was asking about BC Broncos adapter was told by them that dyno reported 3 more horsepower woohooo, Braxton 357 turned me onto the Speedmaster efi intake for the 351w so it looks like im going that route cause the BC Bronco adapter is on back order and from what ive heard will be a while. So ya got any ideas or recommendations let me hear em thanks

Sometimes a cast iron marine lower intake will pop up- less expensive but still hard to find. I think you're on the right track. Don't hold your breath waiting on BC.

Just curious as I'm not well versed in EB stuff.
Why are people doing the 5.0 upper on a 351 lower? Hood clearance?
That's what the BC Broncos adapter was originally designed for, I was using it for performance and to clean engine bay up. Guess you could say I had to much time on my hands, lol My particular truck is a 95 EB Bronco 351, gt 40 heads, deleted smog pump, long tube headers 4;10 gears truck runs very strong was just trying to make it even better with out breaking the bank.

so your talking upper intake only.......makes more sense. I read in my head to much into it...truck vs. car intakes are i bet 2 inches or more shorter.

Yes, when you look at the ports at first glance it looks like you could just port match them but they are off just enough where that wouldn't work. Upon further investigation the truck intake in general is restrictive, and me being the kind of person that wants my cake and eat it to, the more I look at it the Speedmaster intake is the way to go while im at it I found a good speed density cam from crane that is supposed to be computer friendly and offer considerable performance. All this just for a few extra ponies under the hood?lol

What about an Edelbrock EFI Performer with an intake elbow? Wouldn't that be lower profile than the OEM style upper?
My next EFI SBF will be that way for sure

I had no idea they had gotten that high . Guess I'll hold on to the ones I have.

Street driven? Emissions passable? Horse power and tune-able? Drop the whole upper and lower. Bolt up a Good Carb style intake. Bolt up a Holly Sniper or FiTech....it'll tune for any cam, head, ignition combo. Cleaner, lower, and less cumbersome. The old Speed density EFI Stuff Ford did and the GOB of wiring was some of the ugliest mess Ford ever built. I grew up in this era. Between the wiring, vacuum lines, and aluminum plenums, God knows where the horse power came from? The engine looked all Frankenstein to me.

Also an easy way to get mustang EFI on a 351w.

My question is what is the advantage of the Mustang upper intake over the truck upper intake? I am assuming it is a lower profile for Hood clearance.
I wasn't aware that the ports would match. I guess you learn something new everyday

BC Broncos makes the adapter for hood clearance on early broncos, they claim 3 hp advantage not a lot but something. Im doing this to clean up the engine bay I already had all the mustang parts just thought it would be neat, ive learned a few things from this, lol

I hear ya and yes Holley EFI would be nice, but this was originally just a quick lil cheap deal. Ive already deleted all the smog on the truck, was hoping for a quick deal.
