I have an opportunity to get a set of used 35x10.5 SSRs already mounted at a great deal.
What experiences/opinions do folks have on these?
I like the idea of something skinny, really bite down and not need so much lift for clearance. And for Swampers, not too heavy either, might be the ticket for my little a/t 4cyl.

I've heard once SSRs get worn they become useless quick?

What do you mean by "ok for mild wheeling"? I don't do rock crawling or anything but hit trails pretty hard at times.
And yes they'd be perfect for A class... I could fit these w/ minimal lift.... if it didn't mean giving up a locker, I'm not sure the height is worth that.

Height is not worth giving up a locker at all. If that's the case, I'd pass unless you just use them to wheel with, and run 33's when racing. I say mild wheeling because they will probably do anything you want with the 4runner, I doubt you are looking to get alot of body damage, if you didn't care about body damage, you might would want a more agressive tire to get you through rougher stuff.

I'd put them in the same ballpark as a BFG mud terrain, maybe not as street friendly.

thats the plan... ECORS is the only gig I run with that requires 33s anyway.

lol you haven't seen it lately, acquired a lot of new wrinkles at BigDogs (yes, from trees!). But thanks, thats what I wanted to hear.

I ran 35" SSRs for a bit. My only problem with them was their sidewalls are pretty weak. I managed to split one all the way around the tire during fairly mild offroading.
