Just picked up a set of built Cruiser axles and want to build a small light weight buggy. Looking at running a buick 3800 setup with the fwd tranny as the xfer case and reduction. I know alot of the guys are running Honda setup's in these things but was wondering if anyone knew if these were the correct rotation?

i dont believe they are reverse rotation motors, but im not an expert,so hope more help will chime in soon.
was told when you open the hood on the fwd car if the motors on the drivers side and the transaxles on the pass side thats a reverse rotation motor.

Just found out they are stanard rotation. That leads me to option number two, Running a np200 on dana 20 off of the fwd tranny.....

I always thought that when they just used the FWD transmission with it turned sideways they used the outputs connected through driveshafts to the axles. Thereby negating any need for a transfer case. So I am confused as to your train of thought.

The 3800 is stanard rotation, so in order to get it to turn the correct way the outputs will be on the driverside, so weld the diff in the tranny only use the front output and use a "pass. side drop" np205 divorced turn it around backwards so it turns it into a drivers side drop(ie the input facing rear vs. foward). The big advatange is money and weight(cheaper than buying rwd tranny, adapter, doubler, and 2 transfer cases). Plus the other advantage is front digs.
