We are a bit late this year but we would like to do our 3rd Annual NC4x4 man of the year giveaway.
Chip- (upnover)- 1st year
John Craven (JC, formerly CYJKrawler)- 2nd year
So as a refresher Heres who wins, the winner is the NC4x4 man of the year, so post up who you think that is, It can be for great Tech Info, A Great Build, Or just great commentary, or for whatever reason you think. Post the name and why you think they are man of the year. Ill add up the votes on Dec. 20th. That way you can have your cash or goodies by Christmas.
NC4X4 Man of the year recieves a $200 dollar gift certificate towards anything we carry or do....or $100 cold hard cash.

I nominate....
Chad Mackie, President of the Big Dixie Boggers.
Tireless supporter of our sport and the most image conscious person i've ever known.
And a great guy to wheel with!
Later...

I nominate the little man............Dylan

I nominate redneckcj5guy, he's the kind of guy who wouldn't leave a man behind in the woods. Club member or not.
Paul is BADASS tm

First name is my mind is Dylan W as well.
Lotta heart and tireless energy for our community packed into such a small package ;-)

great example being the EB Giveaway project... aside form being a great giveaway package, he did a fantastic job of pulling us together as a community to work on it. That was among the longest threads of the year. Then of course you have his work in the races, the various chairity drives....

I nominate Your Hot Dog Guy!

He does alot for us all, keeping everyone fed, going out of his way to help out when its needed. Totally worthy of the title!

^ ditto

I feel that Big Rick, aka Ricky Bobby (jrraw23) has done so much for promoting 4x4 its unbelievable! He doesn't post as much as he used to and its mainly because he's working non-stop for us.

Ricky went from being the guy everyone bashed on because of the not so smart ideas or things he said or might have done... To the guy who puts 4x4 events on for the masses. Ricky's life is solely devoted to our sport. The man works from before sun up to past sun down; planning, maintaining, and working 4x4 events for all of us to enjoy. He does more to improve and further our sport in a week than a lot of us will accomplish in a life time.

Big Rick works his ass off for us, and its about damn time he gets some recognition for everything he's does.

As a former roommate I wish I got to hang out with him more but its hard to catch him with some down time, so this one's for you Ricky  ... Keep on holdin it down full throttle!

I'll second that

Hmmm..tough to decide this year.

Lets see

Rockcity,SkyHiK5 and Shinton, for the ECORS work.
Ricky for the races he works on.
Daniel for heading up the Rockvember fest.
Chad...sbcjeep for leading one heck of a club.
Turtle mechanic for the Toy drive.
safetyscissors for the work on the forum.
Greg Slade for supporting all kinds of events with prize donations.
Snappy for the same reasons as Gregg^^.
HOT DOG MAN for helping everyone..especially me.

My vote goes to Chris Cagel from the Outpost, because of the 6:30 am pancake breakfast that he made especialy for my daughter, and personally delivered in the freezing cold, to my campsite.

Thats something I will never forget.

Chris Cagel...my family's man of the year!
Although he dont post much, he is on the forum.

Dylan W.

WOW, lots to think about here! In my mind the NC4x4 MOY award should go to someone who has helped improve our sport in the past year. Several names come to mind.

Rob - For continuing to provide this great site at a nominal charge

Chase - For his commitment to the Christmas giveaway, MOY Award and fee help he gives

cltdba - Chris for organizing the NC trail Clean Up Day

yellowjeepcj - Flint for his help with the scientific aspects of the Rescue Tellico effort and for filing his own individual appeal with the Forest Service

DylanW - for his charity drives/raffles

jrraw23 - Ricky for his work with 4x4 Cross Racing and tireless effort on behalf of our sport

SkyHiK5 and rockcity - for starting up the ECORS series

My vote goes to Flint, yellowjeepcj. Hardly anyone knows how much time, money and effort he has put into the fight to Rescue Tellico this year! His effort alone might be the "straw" that breaks the Forest Service's back! His input as a Registered Professional Engineer and Hydrologist has proven invaluable in working with SFWDA and Blueribbon Coalition lawyer Paul Turke in formulating a game plan that can overturn the Forest Service decision to close Tellico. Read his appeal here: http://www.sfwda.org/forum/uploads/3/Holbrook_Appeals_plus_FOIA_27Nov09.pdf

I nominate Chase perry..... for answering my part orders and tech questions at all hours of the day. Delivering my rig 4 1/2 hours from Durham to Myrtle Beach for me so I wouldn't have to make the drive back up to get it, and for making wheeling affordable again for all members of the off-roading world.

(I'll take your prize offering though, since it just wouldn't be right for you to keep it.... I promise I won't use it at Poly Performance.)

I 3rd the Ricky vote, he's gon'na be the "Humpy Wheeler" of off road around here sooner or later.

My vote may not count because I'm new to this, and I have only met DylanW and Terry(Your hot dog guy) Turns out I went to school with Dylan(small world) but Terry fed me and my boys at the flats. If the title was person of the year I would have to go with Chips better half because she did sell me some CJ door frames and really promotes the clubs and events and she was every where at the flats(my first event). I guess I will go with Dylan so I can say the man of the year lives in the same county.

Thanks for all the support guys, It does take a ton of work to put together these events, but in all honesty its everyone that helps me out that makes it possible - there's so many people that have helped me with various events that I have no way of repaying, I'm prob in debt of owing favors to people for life . . .

Which is one of the reasons why I'll back Chad, he's one of the many that has helped me and the events I've had a part in over and over again, without him and the rest of my friends in the BDB that help me out so much, half the stuff I've done wouldn't have happened, thanks guys. :smokin:
