ok, so i found a pilot bearing but it is just too small to fit into the crank, but it fits fine on the input shaft of the transmission. what should I do? are there different pilot bearings for these motors?

can somebody move this to tech?

Think about what you need, then form a question.

it's not his fault...
i screwed up the thread split, now i somehow deleted the first post that was in chit chat.

I put in the subject it's a 4.0L and manual ax15 tranny we're dealing with. I figured that was an obvious jeep combo. Don't remember the year tho.

the year of the 4.0 and the AX15 are the key points. is the tranny newer than the 4.0? dealer sells atleast one kind of adapter/bushing to convert one to allow for the other. i picked one up to allow me to use a later model(external slave) 94 ax15 on my 91 4.0. long story short, i didn't use it and will let ya have it for half what the dealer wants - if it will do what ya need. look it up and let me know.

the years of the the tranny and motor are pretty close the the same. tranny's a 92 and the motor is about the same. They are the later models. But i am going up to the dealer tomorrow to see if i can't find the right part. Hopefully it will go right tomorrow.
