4.0l question

can any one tell me what the difference is between the 1987-1990 4.0l and the 1991-1999 4.0l are. Because every header or intake always is for 1991-1999 4.0l. And i have 1990 Xj w/ a 4.0l

I believe that 91 is the first year for the high output 4.0L, the header should still work on your engine. the separation may be due to the continued use of the 4.2 carbed version in the yj wrangler till 91 when it went to f.i.

91+ HO engines lack an EGR valve, so they dont need a provision for a connection to the header.
