I am now prepared to start 4 linking my jeep but I dont quite have enough to do the front and back at the same time. Which whould be the better choice do the front first or the back first?
what are the benifits of doing the rear first besides being easyer? I figure you incounter more in the front than in the rear, correct me if I am wrong.
I would say do the rear first because you get more axle wrap in the rear than the front. Plus I think I saw somewhere that the average ratio of distribution between stress on axles is Rear 70% and front 30%. If that is correct then the rear is usually doing about twice as much work as the front, so in turn you will notice a bigger difference in linking the rear.
I agree, linking the rear would normally be my first choice.
I am currently linking the front of my truck, but that main reason for that is:
Too much axlewrap in front, driveshaft coming apart, too much tire rub, and it is easier to change the rear later on that it is the front. Since I am swapping in a new axle it is easier to go ahead and link it. All it will take on the rear is cutting the spring perches off and welding some link brackets on.
