So I got this free to me Yamaha Wolverine got in running and have been running it around with my jump pack while I worked some kinks out but decided it was time to spend on an actual battery. Bought the appropriate size AGM battery instead of a lead acid cause I’ve heard good things and it was a wee cheaper (also don’t have to worry about putting a base charge in it). Got it here, tested it and it read 12.67v across the terminals and installed it. As soon as I hooked up the positive lead the master fuse (30amp) popped. Tried it 3 more times and still pops it instantly. Not sure what the hell cause it worked just fine with the jump pack??
Any ideas??

Ohm meter is your friend here. Put the jump pack back on it and see if it blows, could be coincidence. Odd for sure though.

Figured it out. The jump pack was popping fuses when I tried it again so then I was like oh shit, what have I done??!! One small wire going into the CDI box had rubbed just right and had chaffed the coating and was shorting to the frame. It’s just totally weird cause I literally rode it yesterday moving feed and hay and parked it back under the leanto like normal then had the issue today 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️ Fixed now though. Weird happenstance situation.
