4l60e vortec/non-vortec interchangability?

My Z71 is a 95 so it has the tbi feul injection, would a 4l60e from a newer vortec system work in mine?

i believe that a vortec engine has the same block bolt pattern as the older ones.... but the newer engines (LS1 style) have a different bellhousin pattern then the older ones.....

a 700r4 would work in place of the 4l60e though, as far as boltin up to the engine

Well i meant computer wise, wonderin if a 4l60e from a newer vortec computer can be used in the older tbi computer/plugs

Looks like not - the tailhousing pattern changed when they went to the removable bellhousing... AA has kits to fix that, but it takes the "affordable" appeal out of the equation.

Gotcha, I'd still like to know if up to 98 trannys would work computerwise if anyone knows? Cause I know they will still bolt up.
