4L60E vs. 4L80E

Can I swap a 4L80E in place of my 4L60E? What are the diffrences other than the strength? Will my ECU work with the transmission correctly or will I need to get it reprogrammed? It's a 1995 C1500 5.7L TBI.

I am not sure on your obd1 truck, but I know on the later obd2 gm's there were quite a few differences. The ecm is differenent, and the O2 sensors are different. I know the transmission harness is different.
