I see several 4WD clubs have a presence on the site. Can anyone direct me towards one that is a good family oriented club in the Charlotte, NC area?

The Carolina Trail Blazers are spread across the entire state of NC. We would be happy to have you visit with us on a trail ride so you can see us, and make a decision.
Feel free to visit our web site.

most if not all are family orientated.. I would suggest that you attend at least two of their events, and then make a decision.

CNC4x4.org has members across the state, and anyone is welcome on club rides.

Thank you both for responding. I'll keep an eye out for events, I assume as the weather gets warmer there will be more of them. I've been to Uwharrie with the family, is the the closest place to Charlotte for trail riding?

Normally I would be up there for March Madness, I went last year but got there a bit late. In fact I need to call Ryan, he promised to process a purchased for me Saturday because I cannot be there. I'm running a high adventure campout for about 80 boy scouts that weekend up in Saluda, NC.

I've been on there website several times over the last week and it has been SUPER SLOW every time. Not sure what's wrong with it. What time does the sale run? I have to work till 1pm and it's an hours drive away.

The sale runs 9AM - 5PM. Food and beverages are provided and free swag to the first 50 people or so through the door. Plus like Tom said you get to meet some of the good people/rigs that make up CORE.

Yall bringing out the RTI ramp this time Tom?

To give you another option,

You can come ride with us Trail Jammers, Most of us are located in the Morganton, Hickory area but we have a few people who are farther out. We are very family friendly crew of people that enjoy spending time hitting the trails.

We are going to be in Uwharrie on the 17th of April, If your interesting in joining us for a ride. We are actualy camping there that weekend but will get there late on the 16th and leave mid day on the 18th.

PM me for more info if you like.

You can click the link in my sig for more info also.

CNC and CORE and both great groups of people.

In CNC overall most still drive theirs, but more and more are starting to trailer. I guess they are getting sick of playing "whats that noise?" on the way home.

I say if a about 50/50 in our group that trailer or drive, It depends on how far were going. If its close I will drive mine, If Its more than 30 mins away I trailer, I take my wife and two boys, So it is tough to get them and all the gear needed for a day of wheeling in the jeep, So I trailer mine. But there a some of us that are just a couple and have plenty of room in the jeep.

Don't think of the "trailer" people as the "rich" ones or the ones that are going to show everyone up. I had this philosophy in the begining, but have learned otherwise. I trailer my junk with my work van because I wanted to go to the trails and not care if I break. The xj is cheaper than a used atv and my entire family gets to enjoy. More money is spent on mall crawlers to have less fun. I have wheeled with the "biggest" boggers on this board with a open jeep on 33's and had more fun than they had.
